DigitalBlue uses ZEISS’ newest lens technology:  ZEISS has developed a protective anti-reflective coating for people who spend most of their time indoors and are excessively exposed to blue-violet light from LEDs, TV, computer, cellphone or tablet screens.  DigitalBlue comes with all the premium features of ZEISS coatings:  superior hardness, easy care, water and dust repellent and guarantees exceptional visual clarity.  To offer our clients true protection, DigitalBlue also offers an additional anti-reflective layer on the back of the lens, reducing the indirect light reflected into the eye AND offers UV protection from both the front and back surface of the lens.

It is important to choose your visual protection wisely:  DigitalBlue reduces the transmission of shorter wavelength blue light (typically 380 – 440nm as from digital devices), whilst still allowing a high transmission level of longer wavelength blue light (above 450nm) which is important for good health. It boosts alertness, helps memory and concentration and elevates mood.  Exposure to blue light during day time also assists with better quality sleep.

Evidence shows that long-term exposure to digital blue light increase the risk of photo-chemical damage to the retina, which means a higher risk of macular degeneration.
